When school is out, Philadelphia Youth Basketball's School Closure Holiday Clinics provide youth in Kindergarten through 9th grade with a safe, engaging, and enriching experience during scheduled school holidays and breaks. Our clinics give families a reliable childcare option while keeping participants active, learning, and connected through a full day of basketball, enrichment, recreation, and positive youth development.
Led by caring and experienced PYB Coach-Mentors, each clinic combines basketball instruction with age-appropriate academic enrichment, creative activities, leadership development, and social-emotional learning. Programming is tailored to each age group, ensuring every participant is challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow both on and off the court.
Program highlights include:
- 🏀 Basketball instruction, skill development, and active recreation
- 📚 Age-appropriate enrichment, including literacy, math, science, project-based learning, and creative activities
- 🤝 Leadership, teamwork, communication, and social-emotional skill development
- 👥 Positive mentorship from trained PYB Coach-Mentors
- 🍎 Healthy breakfast and lunch provided
- 🛡️ A safe, structured environment where youth can learn, grow, and have fun
School Closure Holiday Clinics are offered in two age-specific experiences:
🌟 Early Years Clinic (Kindergarten–4th Grade)
Designed for younger learners, the Early Years Clinic focuses on foundational basketball skills, interactive enrichment, creative exploration, and cooperative play in a fun, nurturing environment that builds confidence and curiosity.
🏀 Middle Years Clinic (Grades 4–9)
Designed for older elementary, middle, and early high school students, the Middle Years Clinic emphasizes basketball skill development, leadership, project-based enrichment, friendly competition, and personal growth while preparing youth for success in school, sports, and life.
Please Note: Fourth-grade students may register for either the Early Years or Middle Years Clinic. Families are encouraged to choose the experience that best matches their child's developmental readiness, interests, and previous PYB experience.
Program Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Late pick-up available until 4:30 PM)
Grades: Kindergarten–9th Grade
